An educated citizenry and advanced scientific research capacity are key drivers of sovereign national development. According to one recent estimate, Israel has the third most educated population in the world (behind Canada and Japan), and a research capacity of the highest order. In contrast, access to secondary and higher education in Israeli-occupied Gaza, East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and the Palestinian capacity to carry out scientific research, are systematically constrained or denied. This webinar will examine these constraints, and provisions for the right to education, and to carry out and profit from scientific research, under international law.
