Scientists for Palestine is in mourning after the devastating loss of tens of thousands of lives in Gaza, impacting collaborators and relatives within our organization. In light of the systematic destruction of every university by Israeli forces, rendering the academic community nonfunctional, our focus now has shifted mostly to rebuilding Gaza’s higher education system. As concerned scientists, we further condemn in the strongest possible terms the ongoing attacks on human life in Gaza, unparalleled in modern history. We believe this can only be characterised as a genocide, and invite all members of the scientific community to demand a ceasefire with the utmost urgency.
